What is Microbiology? The name of the branch of science that studies and researches microorganisms is microbiology. In 1674, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, an amateur optician, discovered a new one with a simple microscope. Few scientists had previously had an idea of ​​what lives in and within this microscopic realm. Leeuwenhoek gave animals to these creatures, which he saw in recipes of samples from polluted water, food, and mouth, and they were reported to the Royal Society of London in a series of letters. Leeuwenhoek saw these places examining him. As it turned out, these creatures were found everywhere.
With Leeuwenhoek’s discovery of microorganisms, it was explained why many foods and drinks deteriorate. As it is known, when food and tea are left uncovered for a while, organisms grow inside or on them and change their color, taste and appearance.
